The 4th Graduation ceremony of JSS InternationalSchool, Dubai was held on 11th February 2018 within the school premises.Graduates who passed out during the academic year 2017-18 received their coursecompletion certificates from the Chief Guest Mr. Binod Kumar, the CEO of PunjabNational Bank and the Guest of Honour Ms. Chitra Sharma, the Principal of JSSPrivate School, Dubai.

Graduation is an exciting time. It is both anending and a beginning: it is warm memories of the past and big dreams of thefuture. The function commenced with the academic procession walking into theauditorium, while the conventional tune played in the background. It was led byour Head Girl Ms. Ridha Fameen, proudly bearing the school flag.

This is a much awaited event in every student’slife, as it gives returns to the efforts they have put in throughout theiracademic endeavour at school. It is a day full of joy, a day about pride, a dayof accomplishment and a day of celebration. The programme began on anauspicious note with the blessings of the almighty which was followed by thelighting of the lamp. Mast. Jatin Punjabi, the Vice Captain of the school wascalled on stage to bid a formal farewell to the outgoing batch of grade 12 soonafter. He said “Take a bow, make some noise, for your watch has finally ended.”Following this was the last and final speech from our Head Girl. We were allanxious to hear how this journey had been for this polite, proactive and apositive role model for all students. Her talk ranged from her experiences inJSS to what she has become today because of her family, teachers and friends.

The most important part of any graduationceremony is the turning of the tassel. The graduation tassel serves as a symbolof rank and accomplishment. The turning of the tassel from the right to theleft is the time when you move from being students to graduates. Once theturning of the tassel took place there was loud cheering and excitement! Themoment for which each and every one of these students were waiting for, hadfinally come true. They were now graduates!

The candle lighting ceremony was next in theorder of events. The chief guest and our special guest were requested to leadthe ceremony. We prayed that the light of knowledge would be spread all aroundthrough these JSS representatives, the class of 2018. They marched out with asense of achievement of successfully completing their school education and asense of responsibility towards fulfilling further commitments.

As they step into the world, JSS wishes themsuccess and may God bless each one!
