JSS Talks with Mr. Vladimir Pistalo


Mr. Vladimir Pistalo visited JSS International School on 7th November, 2017. He is a Serbian author born in Bosnia in 1960. His most famous works include MILLENIUMIN BELGRADE and TESLA: A PORTRAIT WITH MASKS. He was the recipient of the NIN Literary Award which is the most prestigious literary award in Serbia,for his book TESLA:A PORTRAIT WITH MASKS in 2008.The students of grades 9 & 11werepresented with the opportunity to attend a session of JSS TALKS with Mr. Pistalo. The students were intrigued to knowabout him.Mr.Pistalo began speaking about the history of books and its evolution. He also read out a chapter from his book TESLA and explained to the students as to how he was inspired to write about Nikola Tesla, a Serbian-American inventor, physicist and futurist, who is still best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current electricity supply system.The students had an enriching interactive session with him.A memorable line we would like to quote from his talk is, “Passion is more important than skill and with passion comes the skill.”
